Municipality Sant Joan de Labritja
Area Portinatx

Distance: 8 km from Sant Joan

Portinatx des Rei bay was named like this because in 1929, the king Alfonso XIII disembarked on this beach during a naval exercise. Three crescents make up this beach –Arenal Petit, Arenal Gros and Port- and they are one of the most tourist coastal places in the north.

Arenal Gros is the second cove in Portinatx, and the biggest of the three crescents. It is a white and fine sand beach, with deep turquoise colour water. It is backed by hotels and apartment buildings and there is also a commercial area on a square and car park, next to the road. There is a chiringuito, sunshades, pedal-boats, and water sport facilities.
