San Juan bar, at the Marina, is the oldest restaurant in Ibiza. It was founded by a neighbour of Sant Joan in 1874, and he named it after his village. Back then it used to be a fishermen and farmer inn, until it was bought by Carlos Marí –present owner- grandfather. Now they prepare the same homely food, with traditional dishes at low prices. They don’t make reservations, and the inn keeps the aspect of a century ago.
Our recommendations
Dishes are generous in quantity, so beware. There is crostes salad, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, brown rice with vegetables, grilled squid .. Pay attention to the chef’s suggestion in case they serve Arroz de matanzas, octopus Frita or any other traditional recipe.
