Most probable, this is the best known sandwich bar in Ibiza. To have a cured ham ‘bocadillo’ in the terrace, in front of the village church, is already a classical. Long ago it used to be the “local” bar, opened only on weekends and on rainy days, when farmers didn’t work. Vicent Roig triggered it to the fame in the seventies, when he began exchanging drinks and food for paintings of the newly settled artists. He started a collection that now hangs on the walls of the various rooms in the bar. It is worth stopping by and also see the giant paintings on the walls.
Our recommendations
Most common is to order an ‘Iberico’ cured ham bocadillo with toasts and tomato. The cured ham or cheese tablas are also in demand, accompanied with toasts.
