When catering professionals in Ibiza are asked for the best restaurant in the island, most of them provide Ama Lur as an answer. This establishment is the greatest exponent of the fusion between modern and traditional cuisine. It also has the most professional service and a discreet and warm atmosphere. Ama Lur is, without a doubt, a stop that no food lover can miss. Félix Iñurrita, its owner, decided one day in 1981 to leave his job as a clerk in a transport company from San Sebastian, in the Basque country, and moved to Ibiza to found this gastronomy temple. After an intense search he found a cosy country house, which was once a roadside food store, and transformed it into a perfect place to rejoice in all the senses.
Our recommendations
From the kitchen stoves leave starters such as grilled scallops over a leek bed, tuna tartar with onion purée or zucchini flower stuffed with scallop. Among fish dishes, special attention deserves the cod confit with olive oil foam, the baked turbot with garlic or the suckling pig with baked pineapple.
