One of the charms of Can Berri Vell is surely the small, cosy and well-kept village where it is located, Sant Agustí, and the beautiful 17th century Ibiza style house in which it is located. The old bedrooms, kitchen, porch, barn and terrace have been redecorated and turned into small, intimate dining rooms, while respecting the original appearance. For this purpose, Pep Guillem, its owner, has adorned the house with old rural tools and instruments. As regards Sant Agustí, its microclimate which brings a fresh sensation to the atmosphere is remarkable, even in the hottest months. The restaurant’s maitre, Vicent Tur, was born in the village and is an expert in wines; so, if you need any honest advice, he will be delighted to provide you with it. The chef, Jose Manuel Hernandez, prepares creative and tasty dishes that always keep the essence of the raw material.
Our recommendations
From the menu that the chef José Manuel Hernández designs, don’t miss the raviolis stuffed with ‘morcilla’, the beef carpaccio with ‘Mahon’ cheese or the tuna loin with corn croquant and soy sauce. There are also other exquisiteness such as the ‘two-timing cooking’ lamb, the suckling pig confit, or the cod ‘au gratin’ with garlic and honey mayonnaise. Surely, one of the restaurants worth paying a visit.
