Ses Salines

Distance: In the Natural Park of Ses Salines, 9 km from Ibiza and 4,5 from Sant Jordi

This is the most emblematic beach in Ibiza, not only because it is in the Natural Park, but because in this area the intensity and transparency of the water is really special, owing it to the Posidonia meadows, now part of the World Heritage. Just because it is one of the most beautiful beaches it gathers the ‘coolest’ people and celebrities who spent their summers in the island. Along the beach there are beach bars with different ambiences, and in the Malibú there is always some well-known face, often from the world of football. This restaurant has a boat delivery service, and it is quite common to see champagne bottles on the tables, too.

From the Jockey Club on, the ambience is more cosmopolitan and modern, until you reach Sa Trincha, a chiringuito of clear hippie tendency which is much frequented by nudists and sleepless party lovers. In general, this beach is a meeting place and a constant parade of ‘perfect’ bodies. In the afternoon, discos usually inform the public of their night venues in the most creative and imaginative ways. Be careful with your belongings, including bicycles, when you leave them in the car

If you are not fond of crowds, continue walking towards Torre de ses Portes. You will be able to discover very small inlet and, if you watch closely, you may find a most exclusive spot. On the right of the beach you will observe a pier. It is Sa Canal wharf, where the salt coming from the lakes is embarked and sent to all Europe.
